Teana's Reading Learning Story

Term 3 Reading 

I have been building my skills as a reader.  

I’m going to share about how I know I’ve been
successful as a reader. 

This is what helps me be a good reader

• My Teacher by teaching me how to read a book

because without the teacher, I can’t be able to read

a book.

• My Mum by helping me read a word or sounding

out the word. 

• Sheryl when she helped me figure out a word which it

• My bookmark because it helps me to go back and think

about the sentence that I'm saying when I am reading

my book.

• Try and Infer a word.

My book is called Sandstorm

and the author’s name is Judy Cumberbatch, 

My book is a Narrative book.

I was a good reader when I didn’t know a word because
it is written in Arabic so I used google translate but
then I thought it was wrong so I asked Ahmad because
it’s his language. It means “good morning”

This helped me because I needed to know the word so
I could say the whole sentence and, I used a variety
of strategies to help me work out what I needed to
know to understand the book well.
