Languages Learning Story

Languages Learning Story

My language class teacher is Abby, she teaches us Cook Island language on
Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Cook Island language is important to me
because if we don’t speak cook Island anymore then our language will die.
I feel 95% confident about my language because it’s easy to say and
because it’s similar to Maori and its easy to speak Maori

In Cook Island language I learned to do this year was all the colors and days in Cook Island language, The days are Monite Monday, Ruirua Tuesday, Ruitoru Wednesday, paraparau Thursday, varaire Friday, manakai Saturday and sapati is Sunday. The colors are muramura red, vareau purple, rengarenga yellow, tea tea white, kerekere black, tarona pink, matie green, auika blue, Makara orange, and reureu is grey.

My favorite parts of Cook Island language this year is
when we were learning the days of the week and when we played
fun Cook Island games, we played tic tac toe but to play tic tac toe,
Abby writes down cook island words in each square and we all get into
two teams x’s and o’s. We both get a go at guessing the Cook Island words.
If we get the words right then Abby puts a x or and o for whoever
gets the word right.
